About Daniel Ahasic
Daniel Ahasic is a Sugar Grove, Illinois-based firefighter and member of IAFF Local 99. Drawing upon two decades of experience, he works at Aurora Fire Department and is part of its Arson Investigator Haz-Mat and Paramedic Technical Rescue teams. He has been with the department since 2004, during which time he was named Firefighter of the Year and earned Mercy Hospital Run of the Month distinction. Daniel Ahasic previously worked at DeKalb Fire Department, Darien-Woodridge Fire Department, and Sugar Grove Fire Department.
Throughout his career, Daniel Ahasic has been responsible for responding to and protecting citizens during emergencies, enforcing fire codes and conducting surveys, performing emergency medical services, and coordinating with local police. Before pursuing a career in emergency services, he worked as a concrete construction foreman at Tejada Construction and a clerk at Refco.
Mr. Ahasic also managed the family-owned Courtesy Cleaners from 1984 to 2002, and holds a bachelor's degree in aviation from Southern Illinois University. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys activities such as restoring classic cars, swimming, fishing, and playing golf.
